map

So this is a rough layout of the map on the interface. We can always change the colours/look of it. I thought we could have the descriptions in a wave-like shape, so that it goes with the style of the logo. Please let me know if you have any comments/suggestions.
3d barnacle development

Here are 3d models of barnacles. Starting from left to right: original, hardened all edges (resembling solar panels), magenta glow top of barnacle, narrowed bottom and hardened edges around instead of vertical as well, swaying, indented edges to define mobility. Also the blue one in the back shows the entire barnacle glowing instead of just the top/screen (magenta).

Animated Logo
Animted logo for a new identity for a New York City landmark. I really like the animation of the logo. Very nice execution.

vectors

Hey, here some some icon ideas for the display. Let me know what you guys think. The colours can still be worked out of course.
Icons depicting:
aquabus, Fish n Chips restaurant (Go Fish), Public Market, See-saw (playground), water park, walking dog, sea food (crab), dining(knife/fork), shopping cart and/or fruits and veggies to represent produce in the market.
We don't have to use all as we can narrow down which we want to highlight. I thought it better to post a lot and filter out what we decided to go with.
Any suggestions? Thoughts? Are they working?

More logos..continuing on with the circle/wave shape as we all discussed. I kind still liked the shape of the rocks so I played with that (second row).

more logos!
Here are some more logos that I made. The two on the top row are previous designs, which Brooke said are heading in the right direction. So I decided to expand on them and experiment a little more.
I took some time to sit by the Creek and was really intrigued by the formation of the rocks. I remember that Bree had researched that the rocks were laid out by hand. Please correct me if I'm wrong! The logos on the second row are a reflection of the rocks. They also slightly resemble the outlined shapes of barnacles.
The logos on the other rows are just more experiments with shapes of waves and colours. I haven't added any text yet, so that I can concentrate more on the symbolic imagery.

Concept 3 - Interactive light/seating Installation

For Concept 3, my idea was to incorporate light and interaction. It takes inspiration from the lighting installation I posted earlier by Howeler + Yoon architects. The concept is a lighting/seating installation inspired by the the sea life around False Creek, especifically barnacles. The installation is motion sensored. Each "barnacle" casts coloured light as people walk past it. Information about the area would be displayed around the form. The installation can be used to add a little playfulness to the environment, as well a good way for pedestrians to feel safe as it would bring attention to the dark pockets around False Creek. Especially good for those evening walks for students and locals.
The forms were rendered using Softimage software.
**After our presentation totady, questions to consider are: How can we make it look as engaging during the day time as it is during the night time. What would be the best way to display info about False Creek? Could it make sound? The light is activated by movment, perhaps it can also follow the people who walk by? During the day, how will it funtion outside of just being seating? Let me know what you guys think, suggest.
