For the logo, I was thinking of showing how False Creek is a mixture of its past and present. Connections are seen in the infrastructure - the construction, bridges, as well as in the artifacts that connect us to False Creek's past. The artifacts left over from its industrial years remain as integral features in the environment today. I tried to sketch up some logos, but I really don't think they're working out. It's so much harder than I thought! Please let me know what you think.
Cheryl, I agree that it is a lot harder than it looks. But I think that by having an idea like past/present, something is bound to come out of it. I am initially drawn to the logo with the words stacked on top of each other... hope that helps!
