concept 2 & 3

These are the layouts for the two concepts that Matt and I collaborated on.

The first concept shown features a bench in the shape of the map of False Creek. The bench is divided into four different sections. On the left, there are three levels of water fountains accommodate adults, children, and dogs. In the middle, there is a chair level seating area in between the stool seating areas. The bridges are represented by armrests that separate each section. Information will be printed on the armrests, and will provide maps and directions to key attractions in the False Creek area.

For the second concept, we decided to include the area surrounding False Creek as part of the bench, and have the area of False Creek filled with water. The whole bench is then covered by a layer of glass. A map will be printed on the surface of the bench, and background information regarding False Creek will be printed on the side of the bench. We thought of adding other small details like adding small lights for key locations, as well as including small boats that will sit under the surface of the glass and travel along the routes of ferries and aquabuses.

And I think Matt deserves a huge shout-out for creating all the amazing 3d models!
